Concussion Treatment Starts with Proper Diagnosis and Testing

Concussion Testing

North Vancouver Concussion Testing

Concussion symptoms often stem from inflammation affecting the brain, ocular, and vestibular nerves, which can disrupt blood flow and cause pain, cognitive changes, and neurological issues. Neck injuries may also trigger chronic muscle tension, while some patients experience changes in digestion or hormone balance after a concussion. That’s why comprehensive concussion testing must assess both physical and neurological systems.
Standard MRI or conventional scans may miss signs of concussion, leaving symptoms unexplained. At Northshore Naturopathic Clinic, we offer advanced Quantitative Electroencephalography (qEEG) technology—an innovative tool that helps us detect concussions and shape targeted, effective treatment plans for head injuries. This gives our patients new hope for accurate diagnosis and recovery.

Meet Dr. M: Your North Vancouver Concussion & ADHD Naturopath

My journey with mental health care began in 1996 as a research student at the Toronto Center for Mental Health.. But my own reality had followed me from childhood to my years as a naturopathic doctor. In my undergrad at UofT, I landed an internship at the Hospital for Sick Children, doing genetics research on acquired mental and cognitive illnesses, the infamous Fragile X syndrome. From a young age, exploring the outdoors had been my way of satisfying my inquisitive mind. Learning the healing properties of medicinal plants—a dream realized during my naturopathic studies at CCNM.
The gig at the Hospital for Sick Children had developed a passion and understanding for water. Somehow, I postulated that the “fragility” of the Fragile X was governed by stationary water clusters on the DNA, interacting with water and the faulty DNA, which makes proteins. Falling in admiration for homeopathy was then an easy transition. Orthomolecular medicine and IV therapy came next. But that was all to the expense of the body and naturopathic physical therapy, and acupuncture was just not enough.   So came the Bowen therapy and Neurofeedback.
At its core, for me, practicing naturopathic medicine is practicing mind-body medicine.  I’m dedicated to supporting my clients’ recovery and well-being using the best of both science and natural therapies. I am genuinely happy and grateful for the work I do, and I am committed to helping each of my clients achieve their best possible health.
