This is a topic that has been discussed in past Health Tips and Comments by Dr. Matsen, but it warrants repeating because it’s such an important part of the Eating Alive Program. Remember to continue to eat according to the climate in which you live, especially at this time of the year when it’s winter weather for many of us. Limit the amount of raw vegetables and salads that you eat. Instead, choose more “warming” foods such as casseroles, stir-fries, soups, and stews (see this month’s recipe for Lamb Stew). Stir-fry or lightly steam your vegetables and use Celtic sea salt to salt your food. If you choose to have fruit, eat only those that grow in the climate in which you live, and have the whole fruit instead of the juice.
